Higher Education Admission Requirements for Students from India

Key survey results from a collaboration between WWEC and Institute of Cultural Studies and Academica Group

At the beginning of the summer, the Government of India announced its decision to cancel Class 12 Board Examinations in light of COVID-19 concerns. This decision ended months of uncertainty and stress for roughly 1.4 million students who were expected to take part in this high-stakes set of exams in the midst of the pandemic, but it introduced new uncertainties about their future as they applied to higher education.

Students, parents, schools, and government leaders wanted to know how postsecondary institutions around the world would assess student applications from India. Academica Group, the Institute for Career Studies, and Worldwide EduConnect Inc collaborated to gather the perspectives of Canadian institutions and their plans for admissions for students from India.
