  • To redefine the educational paradigm across North India, Global Educational Ventures (GEV) and SVIET signed an agreement to establish a wing of the King’s College UK in Gurugram.
  • HDFC Bank and TD signed an agreement to streamline the journey of opening a TD Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC), enabling Indian students to conveniently comply with the Government of Canada’s Student Direct Stream (SDS) study permit pathway for expedited study permit processing.
  • Singapore’s James Cook University earmarks scholarships worth SGD 10,000 for Indian students to encourage them to pursue higher education at its campus.
  • The Philippine Normal University Research Management Office (PNU-PMO) held three research capability-building seminars for PNU research staff and other higher education institutions across the Philippines.
  • Admissions of PharmD in 25 colleges across Pakistan have been halted by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan for violating rules. As per the revised Higher Education Commission Institutional Policy 2024 and lack of valid affiliation with a public sector university, these institutions are not permitted to enroll students in the PharmD Programme for the fall session, as stated by the council.
  • The Ministry of Education (MOE) in Sri Lanka and Microsoft have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enable the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) into Sri Lanka’s National School Curriculum.

  • Zimbabwe’s government continues to deport foreign researchers and academics from the country.
  • The Canadian Minister of International Development announced a series of projects within Mozambique worth 65.8 million CAD (48.6 million USD) in funding to foster Mozambique’s sustainable development.
  • The number of doctoral students at universities and higher education institutions in Tunisia is dropping which could affect the appointment of professors and other researchers in future.
  • Kenya’s President announced a Sh13 billion funding from China for the acquisition of learning equipment for Technical Vocational Education and Training Institutions (TVETS).
